Grains prices mixed, livestock futures rise

[August 24, 2010]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Grains futures traded mixed Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for December delivery jumped 13.5 cents to $7.255 a bushel, while December corn slid 3.5 cents to $4.3275 a bushel and December oats were flat at $2.85 a bushel. November soybeans edged up 1.5 cents to $10.055 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures rose on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle added 0.50 cent to 99.75 cents a pound; October feeder cattle gained 0.08 cent to $1.1765 a pound; October lean hogs jumped 1.05 cents to 78.25 cents a pound; and February pork bellies rose 1.75 cents to $1.0625 a pound.
