[December 02, 2010]  BELLFLOWER, Calif. (AP) -- A cargo van stolen from a California motel with four elite show dogs inside worth an estimated $500,000 has been recovered, but two of the dogs are still missing.

Owner David Peek said Wednesday that he and Kristina Rickard, both of Redding, have been reunited with two Akitas, including a grand champion.

Sheriff's Lt. Shane Robley says deputies recovered the van in Compton.

Two Welsh Pembroke Corgis the pair had brought to compete in a dog show in Long Beach are still missing.

No one has been arrested.

Investigators say they believe the thief was targeting the van that was stolen from a motel in Bellflower Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
