Sarkozy in India to discuss trade, energy projects

[December 04, 2010]  BANGALORE, India (AP) -- French President Nicolas Sarkozy has arrived in India on a visit to sign agreements to set up nuclear power plants and discuss other trade between the countries.

T.P. Seetharam, a top official in India's external affairs ministry, says Sarkozy will go to the Indian Space Research Organization in Bangalore on Saturday. He will see work on a satellite the state-run agency is developing jointly with its French counterpart to study climate change and ocean conditions.

The French defense, foreign and finance ministers and nearly 60 CEOs of French companies are traveling with him.
