Frances Sternhagen, Dan Lauria to read Chekhov

[December 08, 2010]  NEW YORK (AP) -- Frances Sternhagen, Dan Lauria, Tammy Grimes and Fritz Weaver will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of Anton Chekhov's birth this week with a public reading of some of his short stories.

HardwareThe group Toward International Peace through the Arts will offer the free event on Friday at St. Malachy's Roman Catholic Church in the theater district. The event begins at 2 p.m.

The program celebrates TIPA's 40th year of arts-for-peace programming and inaugurates a new series of free public programs at the church called "Matinees at Malachy's."
