[December 16, 2010]  LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The developers who want to build an NFL stadium in downtown Los Angeles unveiled renderings of proposed designs for the sports and convention complex.

Tim Romani, president of the project management firm ICON Venue Group, promised Wednesday that AEG's project would come in at under $1 billion.

The plan would be to tear down the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center to make room for a stadium and build a replacement in under a year.

Including Staples Center and the LA Live hotel and retail complex, the proposal would bring some 100,000 contiguous acres of downtown under AEG's management.
