[December 15, 2010]  President Colleen Hester of MacMurray College will join Lincoln College President Jon Astroth and other senior administrators for a special signing ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at University Hall on the Lincoln College campus.

InsuranceThe two presidents are coming together to formally recognize a new agreement between the two historic liberal arts colleges. The articulation agreement eases the enrollment process for Lincoln College students completing their undergraduate studies at MacMurray College in Jacksonville.

"We are delighted to announce this agreement and these scholarship opportunities," Astroth said. "It's a wonderful outcome of our shared philosophy on creating a student-centered learning environment, the focus on the benefits of a liberal arts foundation for a student, and the outstanding reputation of Lincoln College alumni. At Lincoln, we are immensely proud of the high rate of success of our graduates as they move on and complete their academic studies at other institutions. I would like to thank Dr. Hester and MacMurray College for offering our students this excellent opportunity to complete their studies at such an outstanding institution."

The new agreement allows Lincoln College students who have successfully completed an associate degree and who are admitted to MacMurray College to be awarded 60 credits or junior status upon transfer.

In addition, LC students may qualify for several scholarships and awards, including up to $5,500 annually if they graduate with a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher and are enrolling on a full-time basis through the Lincoln College-MacMurray College Partnership Scholarship award. Other scholarship and award programs are the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship, which awards $2,500 annually if they complete their Lincoln College associate degree as a member of the Honor Society and enroll at MacMurray College on a full-time basis; and another award up to $4,000 for Lincoln College graduates enrolling to attend MacMurray through the Lincoln College-MacMurray College Transfer Award. The scholarships and awards will vary based on the students' graduating GPA.
