[December 29, 2010]  ROME (AP) -- Police say two small bombs have exploded overnight in front of the northern Italian headquarters of a right-wing party that is a member of Premier Silvio Berlusconi's government.

Varese police inspector Carla Galluccio says no one was hurt in the explosions early Wednesday in front of the headquarters of the Northern League, an anti-immigrant party. She said anarchists were believed responsible.

An Italian anarchist group has claimed responsibility for sending three letter bombs to embassies in Rome in the past week that wounded two people. There was no word if there was any link between the attacks.

The Northern League -- whose founder Umberto Bossi lives down the block from party headquarters -- once advocated secession for Italy's prosperous north.
