Notice to snow removal contractors

[February 10, 2010]  The following notice is provided by Tracy A. Jackson, street superintendent for Lincoln:

It is illegal to leave the snow from private property on city-owned property or city right of way. This could result in a $100 fine plus $25 for every 12 hours it is not removed once the contractor is notified by the street superintendent or the police department.

This is in accordance with the city of Lincoln's code book: Ordinance 8-3-3, Obstructing Streets.
