Hearings on obesity set for Chicago, Springfield and Carbondale

[February 15, 2010]  SPRINGFIELD -- Health officials will hold three public hearings on obesity prevention.

HardwareThe Obesity Prevention Initiative Act of 2009 requires the Illinois Department of Public Health to hold the hearings to gather information on existing plans and opportunities for action.

Community organizations, health departments, health care providers, educators and other interested parties are invited to attend and testify.

The first meeting will be Feb. 26 in Chicago. Meetings in Springfield and Carbondale will be in March.
