Red Lions men lose to Eureka

[March 19, 2010]  EUREKA -- The Red Devils of Eureka College handed the Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University an 80-64 setback Wednesday evening to snap LCU's six-game winning streak.

Shooting a frigid 35.6 percent from the field, the Red Lions had their only lead at 3-2. From that point the Red Devils led throughout the game, with the margin varying between eight and 20 points.

LCU was led in scoring by Chris Lawson with 15 points and received double-digit help from Kevin Watson with 13 and Josiah Brock with 10.

LCU managed to score 73.9 percent from the free-throw line, making 17 of 23, while being outrebounded 44-28.

The Red Lions will complete their home schedule Friday at 7 p.m., when they host Kuyper College. They will then begin regional playoffs at Watertown, Wis., Feb. 25-27.
