 With the loan, the city plans to replace the existing lift station
on Elkhart Road and replace the sewer force main directly south of
Elkhart Road, approximately 1 mile in length, running parallel to
the railroad tracks and connecting an existing lift station located
at the city's street department on Spring Street.
This sewer surcharge will be added to the bills beginning in
February and will be a monthly surcharge of $4 to those who are
already charged for sewer. Those living outside the city limits and
those who don't normally pay sewer won't be billed for this
surcharge.
Hopefully this will explain the addition to the bills and
alleviate the call volume to City Hall.
