The Lincoln Community High School metals and electricity class toured Premier Fabrication Inc. at Congerville. The plant is part of a large corporation that locally produces steel parts for Case and Caterpillar. The company started its life called the Farm Shop and now employs over 80 people. Students got to see the entire production facility and even got to see the internal workings of the laser cutting machine. Students visited with many employees of the plant about their jobs. Welding is a very important skill that these employees use, but the students need to be competent in other skills as well.
