[February 20, 2010]  Haven't had the chance to get to Lincoln Christian University to drop off your donations to Haiti? You have one more day to take advantage of this local collection site. LCU's Taylor Hall will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon to accept additional offerings for Haiti relief efforts through Haitian Christian Outreach.

The local response to providing needed medical and food supplies for Haiti earthquake relief has been great. The mountain of crutches and walkers continues to grow, along with the donated medicines, medical supplies, infant needs and food. Steve Collins, Haitian Christian Outreach representative and LCU faculty member, estimates these supplies could be in Port-au-Prince within three weeks.

LCU students will begin packing items for transfer on Monday. Individuals and organizations who would like to drop off their donations at LCU are encouraged to sort, pack (in cardboard or plastic boxes), and label items before dropping them off at Taylor Hall. This will make the students' work go more quickly and easily.

Visit www.haitianchristian.org to see video of HCO's work in Haiti. The Web site also provides the most up-to-date list of high-priority items needed and a way to donate online.
