[February 20, 2010]  Logan County Probation and Tazwood Mental Health Centers are pleased to announce that the Illinois Department of Alcohol and Substance Abuse has granted Tazwood a contract to provide drug and alcohol counseling for Logan County. The community has been without a substance abuse counseling provider since November 2008.

HardwareTazwood, based out of Pekin, has been providing services since 1972. They will offer drug and alcohol assessments, outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment, individual and group counseling, and aftercare. A counselor will be available five days a week. Tazwood will work from the Logan County Courthouse, 601 Broadway in Lincoln. Appointments can be made by contacting Vicki Bree at 309-241-1695.

The access to substance abuse services locally will make it feasible for Logan County to implement a drug court, which the Legislature has required of every county effective Jan. 1, 2010.
