Accident reports for Wednesday, Feb. 24 Vehicle ran off the
road at Jackson and Short Eighth
Feb. 22, 8:30 a.m.
Sowers filed a report with police at the Logan County Safety
Complex after the incident.
He indicated that he was driving east on Short Eighth near the
Jackson intersection. As he crossed the intersection, an
unidentified vehicle coming from the north entered the intersection.
Sowers swerved to avoid an accident and left the road on the south
side of the intersection.
An officer visited the scene and reported that he could neither
confirm nor deny the information given by Sowers. He noted that he
saw tracks where Sowers' vehicle had left the road, driven into a
snow pile and over a stump before returning to the street.
Tickets issued in crash on Woodlawn

Johnny K. Bledsaw, 46, of Warrensburg;
1999 Ford Taurus
The vehicle driven by Bledsaw was headed east on Woodlawn Road,
while Walz was on Woodlawn headed west.
Walz reported that he began a left turn onto Heitmann and did not
see Bledsaw. Walz hit Bledsaw's vehicle on the driver's side.
Walz was ticketed for failure to yield and for operating an
uninsured motor vehicle.

Driving under the influence leads to crash on Third
Street

Ford Taurus
The vehicle owned by Snyder was parked and unoccupied along Third
Street. Robinson reported that she slid on ice, losing control of
her car, and hit the Snyder vehicle.
Robinson was ticketed for driving under the influence and for
driving too fast for conditions
Lincoln Police Department report for Wednesday, Feb. 24
- Rufus, Darrick S., 62-year-old male, Lincoln; arrested Feb.
24 in the 500 block of Third Street on a Logan County warrant
for failure to appear on a charge of driving with license
suspended. Bond set at $3,000, 10 percent.
Logan County Sheriff's Department report for Wednesday, Feb. 24
- Watts, Joseph Jr., 25-year-old male, Bloomington; arrested
Feb. 24 at the McLean County Jail in Bloomington on a Logan
County warrant for failure to appear. Bond set at $4,000, 10
percent.
