Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

To the editor:

On Feb. 2, I am supporting Chuck Conzo for Logan County treasurer.

He has 25 years of experience in state government, has over 30 years of experience in administration, management and supervisory roles and a B.S. degree from Illinois State University.

He will put this education and career experience to work to manage and improve the quality of service provided to the taxpayers of Logan County. He is the only candidate with the proven leadership qualifications needed to face the challenges that lie ahead during the next few years in this vital office.

He is also the only candidate with a record as an enthusiastic Republican, having participated in numerous campaigns and in every Republican primary election for nearly 40 years.

I hope you will join me in voting for Chuck Conzo for Logan County treasurer in the Republican primary election on Feb. 2.

Thank you.

Dan and Marilyn Wheat
