Agriculture futures slide on the CBOT

[February 04, 2010]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures fell sharply Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for March delivery dropped 36.75 cents to $5.3575 a bushel, while March corn slid 30 cents to $3.925 a bushel and oats for March delivery fell 15.5 cents to $2.525 a bushel. March soybeans sank 32.5 cents to $9.78 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures advanced and pork futures traded lower on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

February live cattle edged up 0.4 cent to 85.45 cents a pound; March feeder cattle rose 1.9 cents to 98.3 cents a pound; February lean hogs slipped 0.27 cent to 66.4 cents a pound; and February pork bellies lost 0.32 cent to 87.05 cents a pound.
