[February 04, 2010]  SPRINGFIELD (AP) -- A man convicted in a murder conspiracy but released early by the state Corrections Department is back behind bars.

HardwareThirty-six-year-old Michael Rodriguez was part of a parole roundup ordered by Gov. Pat Quinn's administration of inmates released under the discontinued "MGT Push" plan.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported last week that Rodriguez was convicted in 2007 on charges related to a 1990 gang-related murder. He was one of 1,700 inmates set free secretly under MGT Push to save money.

Quinn halted the program and officials ordered parolees to follow extraordinarily harsh restrictions or be returned to prison.

Documents reviewed by The Associated Press show 151 have been returned in the last 12 days.
