To the editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents of
Logan County for their support these last 16 years I have served as
their Logan County treasurer. It has been an honor to have served,
and I will cherish the many wonderful memories I have as Logan
County treasurer. Thank you all.
There have been many challenges over the years, but we have
always been able to overcome them through hard work and dedication.
The Illinois State Statutes dictates the responsibilities of any
county office. We have always taken these responsibilities very
seriously. The Logan County treasurer must have the knowledge and
experience to be able to meet the requirements of the office on a
timely basis. This includes but is not limited to knowledge of the
law, staying abreast of ever-changing laws and the skills to invest
safely and wisely any county funds not needed for immediate use.
It is for this reason I am writing this letter to the editor. I
would like to announce my support of Vicki Dugan as your next Logan
County treasurer.

Vicki began working in the Logan County treasurer's office in
2008 as a part-time employee during the tax season. Vicki was hired
as full time in December of 2008. In March, Emma Knauer retired
after serving in the county treasurer's office for over 20 years as
payroll clerk as well as other accounting duties. Emma trained Vicki
to perform the duties she had been doing, including all accounting
duties and serving as payroll clerk. These duties also include
preparation of many reports required by law. Vicki has performed any
task given to her and has always done so in a timely and
professional manner. Vicki's experience in the real estate field as
well as in the banking industry are serving her well in the
treasurer's office. These accounting skills are exactly the skills
needed to fulfill the duties of the Logan County treasurer.
Vicki Dugan is a lifelong Republican, having first voted in 1972.
Vicki is well-prepared to serve as your next Logan County treasurer.
She is a frugal person, respecting the necessity for careful
management of any county funds. I believe it is vital for the
interests of Logan County for this continuity to continue. Vicki
Dugan will serve honorably as your next Logan County treasurer.
Thank you for this opportunity.
Mary Bruns, Logan County treasurer
