[February 04, 2010]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Events have been scheduled across the state to celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday in Illinois.

InsuranceGov. Pat Quinn and other state officials planned to attend a Chicago scholarship breakfast Monday honoring King sponsored by the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition. Later in the day, Quinn and state and local officials are to attend the opening of the "I Have a Dream" art exhibit in Chicago.

On Monday evening, Chicago Sinfonietta plans to perform its annual concert tribute to King, called "A Dream Unfolds," at Chicago's Orchestra Hall. The group says it will include guest vocalists, dancers and the Northwestern University Chorus.

In Bloomington, Illinois Wesleyan University has scheduled the 20th anniversary of its Martin Luther King Jr. holiday gospel festival.
