 The Logan County Extension Unit will sponsor the bingo games Thursday, Jan. 21, beginning at 1 p.m. at The Oasis.

Oasis annual board meeting

The annual board meeting of The Oasis is open to the public. The meeting of the corporation in conjunction with the regular meeting will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21. The purpose of the report is to inform the members and public about the accomplishments of 2009 and the goals for 2010. A nominating committee will submit names of candidates to serve terms available on the board of directors. The evening will begin with the business meeting, followed by entertainment and a light meal.

The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director.

Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Blood pressure checks

Free checking of blood pressure is available every Friday at The Oasis from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Bunco

The Oasis will host the bunco games Monday, Jan. 25, beginning at 1 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by Marilyn Armbrust of Regions Bank.

Tuesday's lunch

The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Jan. 26 will feature country fried steak, milk gravy, hash browns and fruit cup. Suggested donation is $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay to play cards. Deadline for reservations is noon Jan. 25.

Tuesday night bingo at The Oasis

The Oasis senior center sponsors bingo at The Oasis each Tuesday. Doors open at 4 p.m., sales begin at 5:30, and the early bird game begins at 6:30.
