[February 04, 2010]  NEW YORK (AP) -- Stocks are set to extend their slide as investors remain concerned about the outlook for the economy. Futures are modestly lower.

Investors will get further insight into the strength of a recovery with a new round of earnings and a weekly report on unemployment scheduled to be released Thursday.

Overseas markets were mixed. Chinese stocks again struggled after the country recorded double-digit economic growth. The rapid growth reinforced concerns that China will move to cut lending, which could dampen a global economic rebound.

Dow Jones industrial average futures are down 23, or 0.2 percent, at 10,534. Standard & Poor's 500 index futures are down 1.80, or 0.2 percent, at 1,132.20, while Nasdaq 100 index futures are down 3.75, or 0.2 percent, at 1,863.25.
