[February 04, 2010]  On the night of the first game in the new Lincoln Center, the Lynx took only a few minutes to get comfortable and then rolled up a convincing 86-66 win over Shawnee Community College.

HardwareLincoln coach Kirk Whiteman assessed the game:

"What a great atmosphere to play for our first game in the Lincoln Center, which topped out attendance around 850 people! Special thanks to the student section, especially the ones who stood for the entire game, and the Lincoln community who came to watch us.

"I was very proud of our defensive effort. Going in at halftime 43-21 was very impressive. Our defense helped create some nice transition baskets."

Louie Schonauer led all scorers with 18 points, followed by Marius Sumrell with 11, Kiel Turpin with 11 points and 11 boards, and Roy McElroy with 10 points. Kyler Works had a nice line of eight points, six rebounds and five assists in 18 minutes.

Lincoln improves to 15-5, Shawnee to 10-6.

Lincoln will play Lewis & Clark on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Lincoln Center.
