Logan County coroner's report on Chestnut man's death in home fire

[January 21, 2010]  The Logan County coroner, Robert Thomas, has announced that Mark W. Graff, 55, of Chestnut, was pronounced dead at 5:10 a.m. Monday, when his body was found at his home in rural Chestnut.

InsuranceThe cause of death is under investigation. The Logan County Sheriff's Department is being assisted by the Logan County coroner's office.

Dr. John Ralston in Springfield has performed the autopsy. The preliminary findings from the autopsy are that Mr. Graff died from smoke and soot inhalation. The final diagnosis is pending the toxicology report and further studies.

The family has chosen Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.
