Red Lions men win 4th in a row

[January 25, 2010]  Playing "the best first half of the season and their best offensive game of year," according to coach Matt Clark, the Red Lions men's basketball team of Lincoln Christian University posted their fourth straight victory by defeating the Fontbonne University Griffins of St. Louis 101-84 Saturday afternoon.

LHardwareCU led 51-33 at the half. Fontbonne narrowed the lead to 62-52 before the Red Lions went on a 14-2 scoring binge to put the game away.

John Wallace with 26 points and five rebounds led the balanced scoring that saw LCU put four players in double figures and tally scores from nine different teammates.

Chris Lawson added 20 points. Landan Callahan had 17 points, including 5 for 7 from 3-point range, and Josiah Brock scored 15 points.

The Red Lions shot 51.6 percent from the field, including 13 of 27 from 3-point distance, and made 70 percent of their free throws. Fontbonne had a 32-31 rebound edge.

LCU (10-5) will play at 5 p.m. Tuesday, when they host Knox College.
