welcomes letters of appreciation, information and
opinion on matters pertaining to the community.
Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most
effective and least offensive manner to get your
point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from
commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that
deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or
edited and marked as such.

Dear Editor: I am writing in support of Logan County Circuit Clerk
Suzann Maxheimer. Suzann was appointed last fall by the Logan County
Board after a vacancy in the position became available and is
seeking election on Feb. 2. I have known Suzann most of her life.
She is a lifelong resident of this county.
She comes from a family that has instilled in her the strong
belief of community service. Her father, Glenn Nichols, was a former
Logan County sheriff, and her brother, Steve Nichols, is your
current Logan County sheriff. She has served in the circuit clerk's
office for many years. As a past juror in the courtroom in which
Suzann Maxheimer has clerked, I have observed her to carry herself
with the utmost integrity and professionalism.

column] |
She takes her job very seriously and strives to do the best job
possible.
She strives to help the youth of her community through the local
4-H and FFA chapters. She motivates them to achieve their goals and
encourages them along the way and supports them in every way
possible.
Suzann Maxheimer sought out the appointment last fall for the
Logan County circuit clerk position and was appointed by the Logan
County Board. I would encourage you to join me in electing her on
Feb. 2 as your Logan County circuit clerk.
