Linda Lou Petro Presswood   February 21, 1944 January 24, 2010,
Lincoln, IL.
After a 10 year courageous Alzheimer's struggle, Linda passed peacefully 10:19 AM Sunday at Lincoln Christian Village where she was loved and cared for during her final five months by the incredible village staff, memorial hospice, her dedicated husband Ted and family.

Linda was born in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln Community High School. She worked and retired from Lehn & Fink as a machine operator and stock clerk.

Linda was the beloved wife of Ted for over 45 devotedly happy years. She is forever loved and cherished by her children Judy Crawford of Cupertino, CA, Ginny Huffman, Jeffrey and David Presswood of Lincoln, grandchildren, Ashley, Megan, Christine, Haley, and Dalton Presswood, and Gauge Huffman of Lincoln, Zachary and Hannah Crawford of Cupertino, CA, and great grandchildren Gracie Presswood, Cadence Presswood and Keygan Metelko.

She remains cherished by her devoted sister, Carolyn Kelley and brother Sydney Petro. Linda is also survived by her step mother, Donna Petro and three sisters, Judy Sanders, Roberta Beecraft, and Phyllis Petro. Linda was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert and Dorothy Petro, a brother Roger and her treasured in-laws Clyde and Bessie Presswood.

Linda was happiest when she was tending her home and amazing flower gardens, having ice cream, travelling to California with Ted and Sierra, and laughing with family and friends. She made a difference in so many lives with her devotion, love and compassion. Throughout her life and illness, she kept an amazing sense of humour and constant caring approach.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation in Linda's honour Wednesday, January 27th, from 4 to 7 PM at Fricke Calvert Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, IL. The memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 28th at 10:30 AM at Lincoln Southern Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Presswood officiating. A celebration of life luncheon will be served at the church immediately follow the memorial service.

Linda will rest peacefully at the Presswood Memorial Monument in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln, IL. Memorials may be made to the family.
