Grains futures rise, livestock prices mostly drop

[July 01, 2010]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Grains futures jumped Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

HardwareWheat for September delivery soared 24.5 cents to $4.815 a bushel; September corn jumped 30 cents to $3.6325 a bushel; November soybeans rose 5.5 cents to $9.175 a bushel; and September oats added 14 cents to $2.64 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures traded mostly lower on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle added 1.10 cents to 89.85 cents a pound; August feeder cattle slid 0.45 cent to $1.1242 a pound; August lean hogs rose 0.65 cent to 81.60 cents a pound; and July pork bellies dipped 0.05 cent to 101.05 cents a pound.
