Starkey Acres Fourth of July parade

Saturday morning the neighbors on Richland Avenue in Lincoln got together for their annual early morning block party and parade. Their get-together has become an Fourth of July kickoff tradition for the residents of the Starkey Acres community.

Assistant Fire Chief Mark Miller lives in the neighborhood. Here he hops a ride with a firefighter. Donations were taken this year and given to the fire department as a thank-you for their devotion to the city of Lincoln.

 

 

Riders on bikes and trikes round the curve for the home stretch.

 

 

 

As the walkers approach the end of the parade, Cindy Keller, who hosted this year's event with her husband, Ron, is front and center of the last group to walk in.
