As the Lincoln Park District kicked off their weekend of Fourth of July events, the annual water fight with the Lincoln Fire Department came immediately after the Old-Fashioned Children's Parade. Let the battle begin!

The kids take advantage of technical difficulties to pelt Lincoln Police Chief Ken Greenslate.

"Run for your life! He got the water turned on!"

It's payback time as the kids get a soaking from the chief!

With two hoses running this year, the kids struggle to get close enough for an assault on the firefighters.

This little gal steps into the line of fire for the sheer joy of getting wet.
