Senior Legion scores

[July 05, 2010]  PEKIN -- Lincoln's Senior Legion baseball team traveled to Pekin on Saturday and split a doubleheader, losing the first game 5-3 and winning the second game in eight innings 8-7.

Game 1:

Jason O'Brien picked up the loss despite striking out 12 and giving up only four hits in six innings.

Lincoln was led in hitting by Cory Yeazle with a double and single and Tom Hilton with two hits.

Game 2:

Lincoln             031 000 22       8    11    6
Pekin               103 200 01        7     8    7

Winning pitcher was Tanner Smith, who pitched the last four innings, striking out six and yielding only one hit.

Lincoln was led in hitting by O'Brien's double and two singles, Jeff Bolen's three hits, and Hilton's three hits.

Lincoln will play next at Olympia on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
