[July 06, 2010]  There will be a Red Cross blood drive on Wednesday, July 7, at the Lincoln Sports Complex, 1400 Primm Road, from noon till 5 pm. The blood drive theme is "Christmas in July." For an appointment, call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE or go to www.redcrossblood.org. All presenting donors will be entered into a raffle to win a free pair of tickets for the Cubs vs. Cardinals game on Sept. 25 at Wrigley Field.


There will be cruise-in at Culver's on Friday, July 9, by the Railsplitter Antique Auto Club and Main Street Lincoln. The public is invited to come out to 2530 Woodlawn Road from 5 to 9 p.m., see the antique cars and enjoy a great meal. For more information, call 217-732-3519 or 217-737-8494.

Moriearty Insurance Services will have an open house on Friday, July 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their new location, 617 Keokuk St. The official ribbon-cutting with the Lincoln/Logan Chamber of Commerce will be at 1 p.m. Stop by to see the new office space, talk with the owners and staff, and enjoy some refreshments.

YMCA Golf Clinic for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade will be at the Lincoln Elks Club golf course. Session B is Aug. 2-5, when participants will be taught the fundamentals of golf, including club choice, form, stance and swing technique. Lessons will be customized to improve each participant's skills. Deadline to sign up is July 15. Call 735-3915 or visit www.lincolnymca.org.


If you are looking for a great workout out of the heat, try one of the Lincoln Park District's aerobics or spin classes. Come break a sweat in the air-conditioned aerobic or spin rooms.
