[July 07, 2010]  The Logan County GOP will host a backyard barbecue for Bill Brady on Aug. 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Oakwood subdivision in Lincoln. Brady is the Republican candidate for governor of Illinois in the Nov. 2 general election.

Sen. Bill Brady will be present, along with other statewide and local Republican candidates. The event will also feature barbecue by Mike Mills, World BBQ Cook-Off champion, of 17th Street BBQ in Murphysboro. Additionally, Lincoln native Jeff Blaum will provide wine samples from his winery -- Chase Cellars Wine in Napa Valley, Calif.

"We are pleased to host this event for Sen. Brady and hope to give him a good turnout," said Dave Bender, chairman of the Logan County GOP. "We will provide a family backyard barbecue atmosphere so that Bill can get to know our friends, supporters and neighbors of our community."
