Magical day at the library

Rick Eugene brought his magic, illusions and fun to the Lincoln Public Library Thursday morning. The engaging magician had children and parents alike enjoying his hourlong performance. From simple tricks that Eugene explained to ones that made everyone scratch their heads and wonder, the morning was filled with laughter and entertainment.

An optical illusion after staring at the spinning wheel makes Rick's head appear to grow or shrink.

A magic show has to have a rope trick, and Rick told the children it was explained in a book the library carries.

Everyone had fun with this trick. Young Olivia was given a magic wand to make a coin disappear.

When the coin didn't disappear, she was given a larger magic wand.

And still a larger magic wand.

Until finally a 7-foot wand made the coin disappear.

Dressed as roosters or chickens,  the best impersonations were allowed to be part of the next trick.

Youngsters gave their undivided attention to Eugene as he performed his magic and illusions.
