[July 10, 2010]  ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- A black bear snatched a disabled pet rabbit from an Anchorage backyard and got away as the owner gave chase.

Police say the owner heard the rabbit's cries Thursday and chased the bear across several yards in her stocking feet. The bear wouldn't drop the rabbit from its teeth.

The Anchorage Daily News reports the rabbit, named George, was well known in the neighborhood because his back legs were paralyzed and he scooted around on a little cart.
