[July 12, 2010]  According to Recalls.org, a nonprofit organization, the following recalls were issued by various federal and state agencies during the week ending July 10: 

BASEBOARD HEATERS

Marley Engineered Products is recalling Dayton Electric Baseboard Heaters sold exclusively at Grainger stores nationwide from December 2009 to March 2010.

The baseboard heaters are labeled for 240 or 208 volt use. However, some of the heaters have an internal heater built for a maximum of 120 volts. If the heater is connected to a 240 or 208 volt electrical circuit as directed, the unit could catch fire. 

This recall involves Dayton 240/208 volt model 3UG82D electric baseboard heaters. The white, rectangular heaters are 30 inches long by 6 3/4 inches high by 2 7/8 inches deep. A nameplate on the bottom right side of the base has "Dayton Electric Mfg. Co.," model 3UG82D and date code 1209. 

Consumers should return the affected heaters to Marley for a free replacement.

STADIUM LIGHT POLES 

Whitco Company LP is recalling Whitco Company LP poles 70 feet tall or higher sold nationwide from 2000 to 2005. The poles can fracture or crack and fall over, posing a risk of serious injury or death to patrons and bystanders from being hit or crushed. The poles range from 1 to 4 tons increasing the risk of death if the pole falls toward a crowded stadium or onto a building. 

This recall to inspect and repair involves Whitco Co. LP outdoor steel stadium light poles from about 70 to 135 feet and weigh from about 1 to 4 tons. The poles are constructed of steel with a galvanized coating and were manufactured between 2000-2005.The poles can be found at facilities such as recreational parks and fields, schools and outdoor stadiums. 

To reduce the risk of injury, Whitco Co. LP light poles should be inspected by an engineer or a Level II non-destructive testing technician immediately to identify cracking at or near the weld connecting the pole to the base plate flange. More info at www.recalls.org.

BICYCLES 

Campus Cruisers LLC is recalling Eastside Fix Bicycle Forks sold nationwide from March 2010 to May 2010. The bicycle's front fork can crack or break, causing a sudden loss of steering control and posing a fall hazard. 

This recall involves Campus Cruisers' Eastside Fix model bicycles. The single speed bicycle has an aluminum frame and fork. The bicycles were sold in royal blue with a white leather seat and white gel grips on the handlebars. 

Consumers should contact their local Campus Cruisers dealer to schedule a free repair.

SUZUKI ATVS 

American Suzuki Motor Corp. is recalling Suzuki QuadSport ATVs sold nationwide from September 2008 to June 2010. The flame arrester screen can become detached from its mounting ring, preventing the throttle valve from returning to the idle position when the throttle lever is released and causing the rider to lose control of the ATV. This poses a serious hazard of injury or death. 

This recall involves all Suzuki 2009 model year LT-Z400K9 (QuadSport Z400) and LT-Z400ZK9 (QuadSport Z400 Special Edition) ATVs. "QuadSport Z400" or "QuadSport Z400Z" is written on the sides and left front fender of the ATV. "Suzuki" is written on the sides of the ATV. 

Consumers should contact a local Suzuki ATV dealer to schedule an appointment for a free repair.

TVS IN HEALTHCARE FACILITIES 

PDi Communications Inc. is recalling televisions installed in healthcare facilities nationwide from September 2008 to July 2009. A capacitor on the television's power supply board can fail, posing a fire hazard. 

This recall involves 26-inch and 32-inch wall-mounted LCD television sets that were installed in healthcare facilities, such as hospitals, medical centers and nursing homes. Model and serial number ranges included in this recall are listed at www.recalls.org
