The temperature was hot, but it wasn't as warm as the feelings of community spirit, pride and generosity yesterday on Woodlawn Road. At 2 p.m. Regions Bank handed the keys from their former satellite office over to Habitat for Humanity of Logan County. The facility will allow Habitat proper storage of important records and files, a place for the board to meet, as well as creating a physical presence in the community.

Habitat wanted to use the moment to honor John Sutton for all his work as well as Regions and St. Clara's Manor for their recent, most generous donations.

Boyd in turn receives a plaque from Chamberlain for the bank's generous donation.

Boyd shows the plaque as Pat Dienslake (to the left), Regions' city president for central Illinois,  looks on.

Mike Eads receives a plaque on behalf of St. Clara's Manor for their recent donation of a home to Habitat.

Toni Reifsteck said that John Sutton couldn't make it, but his name along with Regions and St. Clara's will be on a plaque in the new Habitat office.
