COPS comes through Logan County

Fifty cyclists and support staff from several police departments made their way through Logan County on Friday. The group rides from Alton to Chicago not only as a fundraiser but to raise awareness of  needs of the families of fallen officers. COPS, which stands for Concerns for Police Survivors, is a not-for-profit organization that helps families of officers slain in the line of duty. This was the sixth annual event in Illinois. Several state colleges have offered dorm rooms to the cyclists, and many communities and restaurants have given meals to the group to help them on their mission.
