As many as 500 area residents came through the brand-new supportive
living facility between 2 and 4 p.m. on a blazing hot afternoon.
Cars lined Malerich Drive and filled the lot as the curious as well
as potential clients came to see what is causing such a buzz in
Logan County.
After the first hour it was obvious that the community was
interested in touring the new facility. Dara Entwistle, marketing
director, remarked that already 300 had visited within the first
hour.
Both guided tours and just walking about on your own were fine
with the staff members who were on hand throughout the facility to
answer any questions from visitors and to make sure they were
informed of what to see during their tour.
The initial groundbreaking for the facility was just over a year
ago, on April 8, 2009.
The 54-bed community is an alternative to nursing home care for
seniors and offers personal care services in apartment-style housing
where independence is encouraged.
