Rachel England of Maroa-Forsyth signs with Lincoln College softball

[July 24, 2010]  Rachel England, a 2010 graduate of Maroa-Forsyth High School and a three-year member of its varsity softball team, recently signed her letter of intent to played softball at Lincoln College.

She was the starting first baseman at Maroa-Forsyth and plans to earn her associate degree with an emphasis in elementary education.

The LC softball team takes pride in the classroom and strives for academic excellence each year, with the 2009-2010 team receiving all-academic team honors with a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.16.

"I am very happy that Rachel has decided to come to Lincoln College to play softball," said Crystal Wurth, head softball coach. "She is a good kid from a great family. I believe that Rachel will excel in the classroom and represent the Lady Lynx softball team with honor. She is an outstanding player with tons of ability and she wears her heart on her sleeve. Rachel will be a positive addition to our team."
