Seinfeld directs Colin Quinn's off-Broadway show

[June 03, 2010]  NEW YORK (AP) -- After creating one of the most successful sitcoms in the history of television, Jerry Seinfeld is adding theatrical director to his resume. The project -- a one-man show by former "Saturday Night Live" cast member Colin Quinn entitled, "Colin Quinn Long Story Short."

Covering more than 2000 years in 75 minutes, the off-Broadway production is Quinn's hilarious look at the ups and downs of great civilizations gone wrong. Quinn channels comedic personalities of nations past, offering satirical takes on the attitudes, appetites and habits that toppled powerful empires.

The show will play at Bleecker Street Theatre for eight weeks. Performances begin June 19.
