John Michael Talbot will be in concert June 8, 9 and 10th for the St. Thomas Aquinas three-day mission, Meditation through Music. The programs will be held from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. each night.

Talbot appeared in the 70’s with his brother in a band called Mason Proffit which appeared with such bands as Pink Floyd, the Byrds, Janis Joplin and the Grateful Dead. It was in his brush with these bands that Talbot knew his life needed to change. His spiritual journey led him to the Catholic church and the establishment of a monastery in Arkansas. The monastery is unique in that it includes both single and married men and women (with Rome’s blessings).

The concert is free of charge. A free-will offering will be taken which will benefit the monastery which is in a rebuilding project after a fire a few years ago.
