5 dead after shooting in Miami-area restaurant

[June 07, 2010]  HIALEAH, Fla. (AP) -- Miami-area police say a gunman shot and killed four people at a restaurant and wounded three others before killing himself.

Hialeah police Detective Eddie Rodriguez says the Sunday night shooting began in a parking lot outside the restaurant, where the man was seen arguing with a woman.

Rodriguez says the man shot the woman then walked into the restaurant and started randomly firing at the people inside. Afterward, he got into a vehicle and drove away. He was found a few blocks away dead of an apparent suicide.

Police did not immediately release any names.

Rodriguez said Monday the woman in the parking lot and two people in the restaurant were taken to a hospital. The other four victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
