This year, for the first time, Route 66 Garage Sale vendors occupied space at the foot of the World's Largest Covered Wagon, complete with our beloved Abe sitting in the driver's seat. While Abe was obviously not distracted from his study of law by all the commotion, very few visitors to the lawn in front of the Best Western Inn could ignore what was recently voted the No. 1 Roadside Attraction in America by readers of Reader's Digest magazine.

Nothing stops a die-hard garage sale goer, not even an injured leg!

On the large lawn in front of the Best Western Inn, several vendors set up their wares, including this young woman who was offering a wide variety of handbags.

Who could imagine that such lovely items could be made of gourds? If you haven't been to the lawn in front of the Best Western Inn, you've missed a huge treat, so be sure to go today!

By noon Friday, parking was scarce and traffic was heavy around Postville Park as shoppers made the rounds. With citywide garage sales and sanctioned vendor locations, visitors had to keep moving to get it all in.

With his shopping bag in hand, this young man took a moment to point out the photographer in the crowd. Maybe he was wondering if the camera was for sale!

Once they get the buying bug, shoppers of all ages are enthused by all the sights they see at Postville Courthouse.

What teenage girl does NOT need a samurai sword!?

There were also plenty of home decor items for this customer to choose from.
