[June 12, 2010]  The Logan County Highway Department has begun seal coat operations for this year. The coating, commonly referred to as oil and chip, is used as preventive maintenance on most of the roads in the county.

Approximately 38 miles of county highways will be seal coated this year. Seal coating will also be done for the township road districts and several municipalities.

The public’s cooperation is always appreciated during the construction season. Motorists are advised to obey all construction signs and avoid driving through fresh oil.

The highway department appreciates patience by the public during the maintenance of local roads.
