Grains futures rise, livestock prices drop

[June 17, 2010]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Grains futures mostly rose Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

InsuranceWheat for July delivery added 4 cents to $4.5575 a bushel; July corn rose 0.75 cent to $3.54 a bushel; July soybeans jumped 9.5 cents to $9.59 a bushel; and July oats slipped 0.75 cent to $2.7375 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures mostly traded lower on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle slipped 0.13 cent to 88.47 cents a pound; August feeder cattle dropped 0.37 cent to $1.1060 a pound; July lean hogs edged up 0.03 cent to 80.15 cents a pound; and July pork bellies slid 1.9 cents to 96.10 cents a pound.
