[June 19, 2010]  JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- A rare collection of William Faulkner signed books, manuscripts and personal items goes up for auction on Tuesday, and it may the last opportunity for someone to own a serious collection.

Christie's didn't release the name of the collection's American owner. Included in the lot are a rare copy of Faulkner's first novel, "Soldier's Pay," in a dust jacket and signed copies of "The Wild Palms" and "Absalom, Absalom!"

Poet and Faulkner scholar Louis Daniel Brodsky says it's the last large collection he knows of that might come to auction.

Tom Lecky, who works at Christie's, said the lot of 90 items has drawn international interest. Lecky says the collection is expected to bring more than $1 million.
