Blagojevich, known for hair, lauds wife's new 'do

[June 22, 2010]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Rod Blagojevich, a man who knows a thing or two about hair, says he loves his wife's new 'do.

The former Illinois governor, on trial for corruption, talked to reporters Monday about Patti Blagojevich's new haircut, a shorter bob-style.

He said he thinks his wife is beautiful. And he added with a smile that, in his words, "I'm not just saying that because she's going to testify" in his defense.

The governor himself is known for his voluminous head of hair. At times during the trial he has patted his trademark helmet hair to ensure the meticulously combed strands are in place.

Blagojevich has pleaded not guilty to charges that he tried to sell President Barack Obama's vacated U.S. Senate seat and ran a racketeering scheme from the governor's office.
