[March 03, 2010]  The Lincoln Zonta Club is currently accepting applications for its Women's Career Scholarship. This scholarship is open to any Logan County woman accepted into or currently enrolled in a professional curriculum. The school must be accredited or recognized as an approved program in the chosen field of study.

Zonta scholarships are awarded on the basis of one academic year -- three quarters or two semesters -- contingent upon the student's sustained academic achievement. The award can be applied toward tuition, fees, room and board, books, and other related expenses. The funds will be sent directly to school authorities, as designated by the scholarship award recipient, in equal payments.

Top candidates will be selected based on merit, activities, leadership, honors, awards and need. Finalists will be contacted for a personal interview by the club's scholarship committee. Selection of the recipient(s) will be made shortly after the personal interview on April 17.

Applications are available at the following locations:

Completed applications and references must be received no later than March 19 in order to be considered for this award.

Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy.
