Agriculture futures drop on the Chicago BOT

[March 05, 2010]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures slid Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for May delivery dropped 13.5 cents to $5.0225 a bushel, while May corn lost 3.75 cents to $3.83 a bushel and oats for May delivery fell 3.75 cents to $2.265 a bushel. May soybeans sank 21.5 cents to $9.42 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures advanced and pork futures traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

April live cattle inched up 0.12 cent to 93.02 cents a pound; April feeder cattle added 0.37 cent to $1.0512 a pound; April lean hogs rose 0.17 cent to 73.57 cents a pound; and May pork bellies shed 1.7 cents to 93.05 cents a pound.
